Precast concrete is cast and cured at a factory and then transported to a work site for erection. It can be used in flooring like the HumeSlab flooring system and building systems like Omnia precast concrete formwork.

Precast Concrete
The HumeSlab flooring system uses a combination of precast reinforced concrete panels and poured in situ topping as a method of constructing suspended concrete slabs. HumeSlab precast concrete panels are integrated into the final thickness of the slab maintaining the full structural integrity and monolithic requirements without altering the slab thickness.

Placing the HumeSlab flooring system
|
HumeSlab precast concrete panels eliminate the requirement for conventional formwork, all you supply is the top steel, edge boards and the balance of the concrete. Common uses for HumeSlab precast concrete panels are schools, houses, high rise hotels/units, cold stores, mezzanine floors, prisons and bridge and boardwalk structures for both pedestrian and heavy vehicle loads.

Coltman floor and roof slabs comprise hollow and solid concrete units, nominally 1200mm wide and of various depths placed side by side with a grouted joint. These provide our customers with a quick form of construction, enabling the principal contractor to progress in most cases to the next level of construction within a day of the floor units being installed.

Layout drawings are prepared for use during site erection by Coltman fixing gang or by others employed by the principal contractor. The maximum permissible spans of Coltman precast concrete floor and roof slabs are dependant on loading conditions.
